Winter Flowers

In winter, I keep flowers in the house, in pots and in bouquets. This white amaryllis, bought to add beauty to a guest's room, performed over and above all expectations.

Every petal is a thing of beauty.

After its explosion of white flowers, it still had enough life in it to push out one more bud.

Lovely. I'd never seen a white amaryllis, and I like the way the petals in the top picture look almost translucent in the sunlight.

I always fill the house with white flowers in January. They seem so perfect for winter. Clean and pure, like snow.
