8th Grade Fashionistas

I attended an 8th grade graduation last week in Southern California.
8th grade, if you remember, is when 99% of the girls look like this . . .

. . while 2% of the boys rise to the occasion,

15% have been stuffed into shirts and slacks by their parents,

and the balance have opted for determined sartorial indifference.

A few of those dresses looked awfully sophisticated for eighth graders . . .

I agree. Some of them seem to grow up awfully fast. I am glad my own granddaughter (in a green dress with a vintage yellow sweater) moves at a slower pace, despite those shoes she dropped soon after ;-).
I miss not hearing from you, Kate. If you have time and feel like it, I'd love an update via e-mail . . .

I wish you had time when you were at the graduation to visit with me for a lunch or something. It looks like it was a good graduation.

Jill, I'll consider this an open invitation and will keep it in mind next time I fly south :-)
